Ephesians 3:17-19
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye,
being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of
Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness
of God.”
Let us work some more on this faith and love working
relationship. Let me tell you this right off the bat, you can only love the way
God wants you to love by faith. Yes, faith is the foundation upon which the
love walk
stands, for it is after Christ dwells in your heart by faith that
love can take root and you are able to also be grounded in love. But beyond
that, it says; it is by knowing this love that the fullness of God will fill
you. The New Living Translation puts it this way:
“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too
great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness
of life and power that comes from God.”
The word know in the King James is the experiential
knowledge of love, so it is saying it is by you walking in this type of love
that you will be made complete with the fullness of life and power that comes
from God.
Another translation says the best of God is found in knowing the love
of God that is built on a foundation of faith. This is why I said when you walk
in faith and love you become unstoppable because with faith all things become
possible and with love you are made complete with all the fullness of God.
Beloved, if God so loved us let us love one another.
