Choosing the way of faith

Mark 9:21-24
“And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

We are continuing our thought on choosing to live by faith and what it means. We said firstly, it means to believe in the integrity of the word of God above experiences of man. Just as we saw in our closing Scripture of yesterday, Abraham believed because God said it even when his body said something different.

The second way to know you have chosen
the way of faith is:
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth,… that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth…and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:8-10
You put the word of God in your mouth and speak it regularly, because when you have faith you speak.

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say…” Mark 11:22, 23.

Therefore choosing the way of faith is choosing to live also not only by what you believe in your heart but by the spoken word. You live by what you say. Choose to speak only what God’s word says about your situation, about your life.

The third indicator that you have chosen the way of faith is that you do the word of God, be a doer of God’s word. The book of James said it is the doer that is blessed not the believer or talker but the doer. So until you really do the word of God, you do not believe. So be a doer today.

“You see that [his] faith was cooperating with his works, and [his] faith was completed and reached its supreme expression [when he implemented it] by [good] works.” James 2:26 AMP
