Training your heart

John 6:28-29 “Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them; believe on him whom He hath sent”.
We are continuing our thoughts on believing. Training our heart to believe after the pattern of the kingdom, that is, through things not seen. It is a work that we must take seriously if we are to succeed in life God’s way.

This is because our heart has been

Things that are not seen

John 6:28-29 “Then said they unto Him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent”

Jesus is pointing out to us here that the most important work for the child of God
is to believe. Believing is something that

Your Thoughts!

Proverbs23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he… "

Your thought affects how you believe. What you think you are, you are. Therefore your faith level cannot rise above your thought level. Right thinking leads to right believing.

When the mind is empty, hopelessness is the result. Therefore to be able to think right thoughts that will enable you to believe

The Miraculous

Proverbs 23: 18 ““For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off”.

In talking about living in Expectant faith these past two days. I believe the spirit of the Lord would want me to tell you to “Expect a miracle today” not tomorrow, not next week but today.

He wants you to expect miraculous things to

Living in Expectant Faith

Proverbs 23:18 “For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off”

We are shall looking at the subject “Living in Expectant Faith”. My Pastor said something a long time ago – he said the Spirit of God told him “Every time I (God) want to do something I have never done before, I (God) will initiate a moment or a time or a season for the individual.

Therefore you must be sensitive enough

Expectant Faith

Proverbs 23:18 “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off”

To expect is to look forward, to anticipate to consider probable or certain. It involves a high degree of certainty and usually involves the idea of preparing.

This is what should be attitude of people in faith. I am

The faith that overcomes the world

1 John 5:4,5 “For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that over cometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God”

There is a faith that overcomes the world. It is not human faith, it is not just any faith. It is a faith that is rooted in something. It is rooted in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is rooted in God. In our text, it says

When is it of faith?

Roms 4:16 “Therefore it is of faith that might be by grace…”

How do you know when something is of faith? That is when your step is of faith.

1. When you expectation is according to that which was spoken

2. When you have hope on hopeless

Total complete faith

Gen. 15:1 “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying. Fear not Abram, I am your shield, your abundant compensation, and your reward shall be exceedingly great

Our faith in God must be a total complete faith, out faith in God must also be in the totality of God. We cannot have faith in one area and not have faith in Him in another area.

Our text reveals God introducing

How does faith come?

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

How does faith come? By hearing the word of God. Some people think faith comes by hearing other people’s testimonies.

But the scripture did not say faith comes by hearing

I judge God faithful!

Deut. 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations”

One of the things that will help your faith to stand strong is when you recognize that God is faithful, and you must develop your

God is a Rewarder!

Hebrews 11:5,6 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God"

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder

The faith that changes your world

Hebrews 11:5 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God”

We are continuing our meditation on yesterday’s passage. Notice in our text “… for before his translation (change) he had this

Change the appointment!

Hebrews 11:5 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God”

To “translate” means to remove or change from one place, state, form or appearance to another.

I believe that God is enabling man to exercise his faith so that man can change his world. This means anything that is within his area of influence or in his ‘world’ or anything that has to do with man’s sojourn here on earth. In our

It is temporal!

2 Cor. 4:18 “While we look not at the things which are not seen but at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”

We are still studying out the word “temporal”.

The dictionary says of relating to time as opposed to eternity. This means what is temporal has a time limit, or it is going to be

It is subject to change

2 Cor. 4:18  “While we look not at the things which are not seen but at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”

“Temporal” means it is subject to change. If it can be perceived by the five senses, then it is not permanent.

Nothing is permanent, nothing is final. The only final thing, the only permanent thing is the word of the living God. Therefore

Speak Now!

Ezekiel 37:3, 4 “And He said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. Again He said unto me, prophesy upon these bones, hear the word of the Lord…”

Speak and See!

Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved”

The just shall live by faith

Romans 1:17 “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written the just shall live by faith”

Friend, the just shall live by faith is a statement of fact. It is not debatable. You as a just person, that is, someone who has expressed faith in Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins has no other way to live but

Faith in the name of Jesus!

Acts 3:16 “And His name through faith in His name hath made man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given this perfect soundness in the presence of you all”

Faith in the name of Jesus! This is something that you have to develop. It is not automatic that you have faith in the name of Jesus. For your faith to be strong in the name you need to know that:

   1.    The name of a person is as good as that

Do something different today!

Mark 5:25,29 “And a certain woman which had straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague”

If we find ourselves at the bottom of life’s ladder, it is because that is all we have hoped for, believed for and expected. But you are

The word of faith

Romans 10:8 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach”

The Bible is called the Word of faith. What does it mean? Is it important that it is called that? Yes, it is important to you that it is called that because of two questions Paul asked the Galatians Saints:

1.    “…Received ye the spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?
2.    He therefore that ministereth to you the spirit, and worketh miracle among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (Gal.3:2,5)

It is important because when you hear the word of God preached or taught, what do you hear? Works of the law or faith? It is the hearing of faith that will bring you salvation, deliverance, healing, soundness of mind and wrought miracles for you.

Make sure that is what you are exposed to the WORD OF FAITH; not doubt and unbelief or the law. Your miracle is in the hearing of faith from the word of faith!

Confession:

My ears are attentive and open to only the word of faith. Faith is my victory.

Walking in Victory

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,… But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering…”

Let us take another look at the faith and wisdom connection in walking in victory. It is said that faith begins where the will of God is known. Another word for knowing the will of God is wisdom.

There are instances where God’s will is expressly written in the word of God and there are instances where they are not clearly spelt out. The context of our text is clearly one of such. In the midst of trials and

Purposeful faith

Mark5:27 “When she had heard of Jesus came in the press behind and touched Him”

There is something about faith that you need to know. Faith is always deliberate and purposeful. It is not trial and error sort of thing. It is not accidental, it is not a chance thing.

Actions of faith should be pre-meditated, purposeful and pointed. That is you know clearly what you are going for. When your faith is not

Faith in adverse situations

James 1:5-6 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,… But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering…”

It is important to understand that the devil’s defeat by God was not solely a defeat by faith but a defeat that came to pass with a working combination of faith and wisdom.

When you are faced with adversity you

need the wisdom of God in that situation. But you

A decision of faith

Psalm 27:13 (amp) “[What would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living”

Every person must come to the place where you make a decision of faith, that's where you choose to believe God.

This is decision that is necessary if you

The eye of faith

2Cor 4:18 “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal”.

The scriptures says faith is the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1) To have victory in life we are supposed to look at the
