Faith in the wisdom of God

1Corinthians 2:5
“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

I feel impressed to bring your attention to this passage one more day. Last time I looked at this on a personal level, that is, the wisdom of men. But it is more so, on a corporate level.

There are a lot of things that man naturally in his wisdom acts upon. It is generally believed that before you can afford to have some

Whose reports will you believe?

Isaiah 53:1
“Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

Faith believes and holds unto the report of the Lord. The world we live in will present to you a lot of reports that are not in tandem with God’s report. You have economic report from the government, health report from

Love is a believer

1Corinthians 13:7 (NET)
“It (love) bears all things, believes all things…”

You know what love believes, love is a believer. He who loves is someone who believes. Jesus said he that loves me will keep

Let your faith stand in the power of God

1Corinthians 2:5
“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

My Pastor, Dr Joda once told a story about a young man who was promised a job by an uncle of his who was the head of a government parastatal. He was asked to resume on a Monday but by the weekend there was a change of government and the uncle was relieved of his position, which automatically

Confession leads to possession

Mark 11:34,24
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Let me add one more thought on our text for meditation.  I pointed out that faith will work by saying it and praying it yesterday. Today, I want you to understand though that after you have prayed it, you still have to say it.

Why? Look at verse 24 again: “…when ye pray, believe that

Faith in your words

Mark 11:34,24
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

You need to understand that faith works either by saying it or by praying it. This is what the two verses reveal to us. What ends the two

Subduing kingdoms

Hebrews 11:33 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions”

One more thought on our text. What are subduing

Use your faith to work righteousness

Hebrews 11:33 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions”.

Let us pursue this thought further. How do you use your faith to work righteousness?

“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Roms 6:11

Remember 11 Pet. 1:3 says you have been given

Using faith

Hebrews 11:33 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions”

In this verse, I see majorly three things faith is used for and I will state them in ascending order.
I believe it is to:

    1.     Obtain promises
    2.     Work (wrought)

Confessing His name

Hebrews 13:15 “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”

The phrase “giving thanks to His name” can also be rendered “confessing His name.” This is a type of confession too – confessing His name. What

I have faith

Hebrews11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please God…”

This is one more reason why you have to learn how to live the life of faith. You CANNOT please God without it. Why you may ask? Let the word of God answer it for you: “…for whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Rom 14:23).

You agree that no one that is in sin will please God. A life

Pleasing God

Hebrews11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please God…”

Many believers are concerned with this, infact some are so pre-occupied with it that they are not really enjoying their Christian walk. What is

Use what you have!

Luke 17:5 “And the Apostle said the Lord, Increase our faith”

Some people today because of the verse above also pray to the Lord asking Him to increase their faith. Let me save you time and energy, stop such prayers because it is  not necessary.

Just as the Lord did not answer

The word is working

1 Thess. 2:13 “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

The word works! And it is working in you right now. Many times because you do not see immediate changes, Satan tries to convince

Looking unto Jesus

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus. Who is the leader and the source of our faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also the finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection].

Faith is never at it’s finished product when it is used. That is, you might feel all things are wrong with your faith as you apply it

Faith cometh

Romans 10:17 “So, then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

So, faith cometh! If faith cometh, then it means faith is not present where it is coming to. But I thought everyone of us is given a measure of faith which means every believer has faith? What this means is that in different situations of life, faith for that situation has to come to you.

For you to become a child of God, faith came

Keep speaking to the mountain

Matt. 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them… if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you”

I can hear someone say “Man of God you just contradicted yourself with this passage when compared to our meditation yesterday”.

No I did not. I brought this to your attention

Believing God

Romans 12:3 “…according as God hath dealt to everyman the measure of faith”

What makes people to fail in their adventure of faith is not walking in consonance with the understanding that faith has measures.

That is, you must know the level

Faith is in measures

Romans 12:3 “…according as God hath dealt to everyman the measure of faith”.

Have you noticed that faith is in measures? That is why there is no faith or zero faith (Matt 4: 40).

Then there is little faith (Matt6:30) and great faith (Matt 8:10) . When you started out, you were dealt a measure, so every believer was

Living by faith

Galatians 3:11 “… The just shall live by faith”.

We continue our meditation on the above text. If the just lives by faith, then it means we are not to wait until we have problems to know if we have faith.

We need to know what it is to live by when there is a trouble and when there are no troubles. When you live by this when trouble comes, faith will ‘spring out’ to answer for you.

“Bow down thine ear, and hear the words

Faith should be your lifestyle

Galatians 3:11 “… The just shall live by faith”.

Faith is no magic wand to be pulled out of the hat in the time of crises neither is it a formula to be used in solving problems. Those who try to use faith like that never succeed in their use of faith.

Rather, faith is to the believer what water

What has God said to you?

Hebrews 13:5-6 “…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me”

There is something that you need to observe when making confessions of faith and it is this: let your confession be a product of what God said to you. That is learn to speak out what you heard God say to you.

It is such sayings that bring forth results

Don't be distracted!

Luke 12:29 “And seek not ye what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind”

As we continue our study on doubt, in the passage above we see the word for doubt means being anxious through a distracted mind or a fluctuating mind. This implies that doubt comes in also through anxiety, worry or

Get Revelation!

Mark 11:23”For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in His heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”

Doubt is a thief that creeps sometimes unnoticed into the heart of the believer and steals away faith, and incapacitates when it comes to receiving. But you can prevent this from happening when you understand how

Faith in the Blood

Rev. 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”

Hebrews 12:24 “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”

The scriptures say we overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb. And we are told this blood speaks, and it is called the blood of

Speak in agreement with God's word

James 3:2 “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body”.

We have meditated a lot on the importance of confessing God’s word as a necessary ingredient to successful faith walk.

However, I want to raise the bar higher. That is,

What is unbelief?

Hebrews 3:12 (Amp.)
[Therefore beware] brethren,  take care, lest there be in any of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God.”

Unbelief is defined as the state or quality of not believing.
Disbelief is defined as the inability or refusal to believe or to accept something as true.

When you put the two definitions together, unbelief

Exercising faith for your children

Isaiah 54:13
“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children”

Do you know you can exercise faith for your children and they will all turn out right? Yes,  I mean all of them will turn out according to God’s design and purpose for them.
To be able to exercise faith for anything, it

What is Expectation?

John 6:29(ASV)
“Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent”

Lastly, to know if you are believing is this: Do you have hope and expectation?
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy

Speaking follows believing

John 6:29(ASV)
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent”

The third way I believe you can measure if you are believing is this: Are You speaking out what you believe?

II Corinthians  4:13
“ But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written , I believed and therefore did I speak, we also believe, and therefore also we speak.”

This is so clear, speaking follows believing . If you are not speaking what you believe, that means you do not believe as you claim.

The scriptures say with the heart man believeth, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so if your heart is filled with believing , it should flow out of your mouth.

I ask again , Are you speaking out what you believe? Speak out now!

Confession : I believe therefore I speak.
