2 Peter 1:19
“And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You
will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal
(squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the
Morning Star rises ( comes into being) in your hearts.” AMP
Today, I want to share with you why you need to have the
prophetic word delivered to you. I liken these times to the situation in
Matthew 14:21-33. Jesus wants us to get to the other side but the boat of life
is going through turbulent times because the ‘storm’ is out there.
Just as
Peter heard the voice of the Master and stepped out of the boat to walk on the
stormy waters you need to hear the prophetic word so that you will step out of
the boat of fear and mediocrity and dare to do great things. You cannot live an
extra ordinary life in these turbulent times if all you are hearing is what
everybody is hearing, you must hear your own word.
You prophetic word, when it
comes it will be like a dog hearing his whistle, it will make run and shout
when everybody else wants to sit still.
You also need a prophetic word so that you can bring hope
and encouragement to other people around you but who do not have the same hope
as you have and who are in stormy waters.
Joseph is a man who had a prophetic word come to him and it
brought him out of the prison to the palace. Psalm 105:17-21
