Lack of faith

Mark 6:5-6
“And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.  And he marvelled because of their unbelief and ...” KJV
“He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith…” NIV

Here we see the other side of what we have been studying. Jesus visited His hometown but He could not do much, notice it was not that He did not want to do mighty works or miracles but He just could not do it. What was responsible? There was nobody making a faith connection. Sometimes, people will say it was not the will of God for them to be healed but the Scripture did not say anything about God’s will. It was not that Jesus had ceased to be anointed or that His power had diminished, not at all.

The Bible said, “He marveled at their lack of faith…”. So before you throw it in the laps of God by saying it is not God’s will for you to have a particular blessing, make the faith connection with  the power first and see if power will not flow into your life to effect the miracle or blessing you desire.

There is a side thought also that is worth looking at.
“And He was not able to do even one work of power there, except that He laid His hands on a few sickly people [and] cured them.” AMP

That thought is this: the power of Jesus was still the same but what He did were minor healings. This goes to show that your faith determines the volume of power you draw to yourself. It is not about the power of God because it is constant, it is about the faith of the individual. Notice again, all things are possible to him that believeth.
