Three types of faith

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

There is an understanding that I want you to have concerning the subject of faith. It is that when you talk about faith, there are actually three types of faith in Scripture or three levels of operations of faith. They are:

   a)     Faith as Gift or the Gift of Faith
   b)     Faith as a Fruit or the Fruit of faith
   c)     Faith to live by

Our studies have been centred on majorly on the third type, the faith that we live by as believers. The one the Scriptures refer to when it says, “the just shall live by faith”

Briefly, the gift of faith is that one which is mentioned among the nine gifts of the Spirit in 1Corinthians 12.

The second one is the that which is referred to in Galatians 5:22 as one of the fruits of the recreated human spirit. While the third form is the continuing personal leaning of the individual believer on God as a lifestyle. Each has it’s place and purpose in the walk of the believer. So we want to look at them, especially the first two so that you can have an understanding of them.
