The Righteousness of God

Romans 1:17 “…For therein the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith”

What reveals the righteousness of God? The earlier verse says it is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now Matthew 6:33 says

"seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness." 

What is the righteousness of God? Let us look at the Amplified Bible to help us answer that: “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right)…” So God’s righteousness is His way of doing and being. 

Now back to our text. This means God’s way of doing things and being is only revealed by means of faith.  This means that you cannot know God’s way of doing and being without faith. This is why the Scriptures say “by faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God” (Heb 11:3).  

What am I saying to you today? It is this: If you come by faith, the gospel, which is the power of God to save, will reveal to you God’s way of doing things and being which will translate to your salvation, your deliverance, your prosperity. So as you read the Bible today, expect to see in it God’s way of doing and being.
