Moses' mother: Her faith

Hebrews 11:35
“Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.” NIV

We are still learning from Moses’ mother faith lessons. This next act of hers should speak to parents when it comes to believing God for their children especially when it is time for them to leave home.

By faith she kept him in the house for three months, then put him in an ark made of bulrushes and put him by the bank of
a river. He was found by Pharaoh’s daughter who now employed her to look after him until he was weaned.

Now comes the real test of her faith in God, his release to the palace to grow up as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. She had to believe that her God will sustain him and all he had been taught concerning his God and his people. It goes without any argument that the release of Moses to the palace is an act of faith which we can emulate in this this day and time.

Egypt at that time was the most civilized nation and the reigning power at that time. She believed also in Proverbs 22:6;

“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Did her faith work?

“And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.  And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.” Exodus 2:10-12

Let me speak to parents, be strong in the Lord your God and don’t be overtly concerned regarding your children. Your faith in God regarding them will yield dividends. They will serve your God, they will not depart from the faith you taught them.
