Have Faith in God Part 2

“ And Jesus answering saith unto them , Have faith in God” Mark 11:22

“Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm…For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh…Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh…” Jeremiah 17:5-8

God  cannot fall below His standard-He is HOLY. He says “I am the Lord, I changeth not; that is why you are not consumed”- not because of works, but because of ‘what’ I am. God is not a man.

What does it mean to be cursed? It means in any way you are already on the road to failure. If in any way your faith is to any extent connected to man, such a person
is like a heath in the desert---he does not see when good cometh, because his faith is not in God. In order words, by your faith being in man, it completely obscures your vision of the good that is supposed to come.

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord… shall not see when heat cometh…”  Notice the word ‘when’  heat cometh, not ‘if’ so;  how come he doesn’t see? Because he’s shielded heat doesn’t impact him; his faith is in God and that faith shields him. This is what we stand to gain by making God our absolute trust .

Have Faith in God- when I say in God, I mean in God absolutely. We need to check ourselves when we say our faith is in God..Is there a way in which a man is attached to it somewhere? Once that is so, your faith is not in God. It is true God uses men, but when it comes to looking up to God for something it has to be directly absolutely to God without any leaven of man.

If your faith is in the ‘works’ of the Lord, when drought and heat are all around you, you become confused, but because your faith is in the ‘what’ of God it shields you from the drought and you are not moved.. that’s what it says in Ps 112… his heart is fixed trusting in the Lord.

This is what it is to have faith. It is taking it out of the works of God into the character of God and that is what stabilizes you.
