Have Faith in God Part 1

“ And Jesus answering saith unto them , Have faith in God” Mark 11:22

When Jesus said “Have faith in God” , He tells you clearly where your faith is supposed to be directed at. It is not to man, it is to God and it has to be definite, if you don’t sort that , your faith can unconsciously be put in man.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is…” Hebrews 11:6

You have a choice about coming to God, but when you come you must believe that He is…not that He can do. For you to appreciate the faith you have, you must be able to know the ‘what’ of God you worship because this understanding is the highest  level of faith.  When
your faith is in the ‘what’ of God, not what He can do, that faith cannot be shaken. Why? When you don’t see the work of God, because you know the ‘what’ of God, you will not shaken.

God is not defined by His work, His work comes out of what He is. He said “I am the Lord I change not, therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed”.  It is His ‘what’ that defines Him, it is His character that defines him. There are  times that His works may not be present, He is still God,  your faith has to be in ‘what’ He is.

Peter said Matthew 14 “ …If it be you bid me come..” He knows that if it is the master He will ask him to come. He was still not sure who he was seeing, darkness was around, storm was raging  but he could step out into the water because he knows it is his master that tell him ‘Come’. When you are confused about what is happening to you, if you know the character of God that He does not change then you cannot be consumed.

In  Psalm 22, David, was confused because of what he was going through but then he remembered “…but thou art holy…” The word holy is that “you have a standard that you don’t fall short of”. David reminded God of His standard. What is that standard? “Our fathers trusteth in thee and thou didst deliver them” he is saying  “I may not understand what is happening but I know I have a standard I can judge you by- He had faith in God – he knew God’s character and by that he encouraged himself at the end. HAVE FAITH IN GOD
