What faith brings to you

Hebrews 11:4
“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”

It is instructive to note that the first thing we see about the testimony of faith is that Abel obtained witness that he was righteous. I believe that is the very first thing that faith comes with to the life of the believer after hearing the gospel. This is also revealed in the passage below.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16,17

So the first thing that faith brings to you is righteousness, the righteousness of God. I want you to know that there is a righteousness which is of faith and that which is of works. That which is of works, the Bible says is like filthy rags before God. That which is of faith is imputed righteousness and it is imputed because you believe the Gospel not because you worked for it or earned it. It is a gift from God to you.
This is the baseline upon which every other thing that faith brings your way stands. If you cannot accept to be made righteous by faith, it will be difficult for you to receive healing or any other blessing by faith. Therefore, you cannot claim to live by faith if you have not accepted the gift of righteousness it came with.
