John 10:34-35
“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.”
I said yesterday that faith makes us act like God. Well, the truth is that the believer is declared a god already by God and faith is one of the things that enable us act like Him. If not, what would you call Joshua asking sun and moon to stand still or Peter walking on water or various other examples like that in Scripture.
According to our text above, there is another thing that makes us function like God, it is the word of God. When you take the word of God and begin to speak it, angels, satan, demons, circumstances and situations do not hear you, they hear God speaking and so they have to obey.
Ps 103:20
“Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”
“Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”
Notice what the angels hearken unto: the voice of His word and you may be the one voicing that word it does not matter. Who they hear is God speaking not you. So when you take God’s word into our mouth and speak it, you are acting like God, and you are a god.
