The Holy Spirit

John 10:34-35

“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.”

We have looked at some things that God put in us that make us function like Him, such as faith and His word. The other thing (pardon my use of the word thing) that God gave us to enable us be and act like Him is His Holy Spirit. When Jesus was to go He told His disciples that He was going to give them another Comforter.
The word another implied one just like Him who was going to be in them as well as be with them. Having the Holy Spirit in us is to enable us among other things to be and act like God. The Scripture said that when the Spirit came upon Saul the king, he was like another man. The Spirit of God enables us to go beyond our natural self.
When Paul and Silas ministered at Lystra, and a cripple man was healed, the people said the gods have come down to the earth. The Holy Spirit in the believer helps you to live supernaturally, one of the ways he does that is to enable you hook up to the supernatural wisdom of God and use it to confound the wisdom of this world.

Another way the Spirit of God enables us to be and act like God is when we allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit. When you are led by God and you are obedient, you of course are living and act as God would. Jesus lived like that. He said I do nothing except I see my Father do them. That was why He said, the works that I do, my Father that dwelleth in me doeth them. Ye are a god, act like one!
