Hebrews
13:15 “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”
The
phrase “giving thanks to His name” can also be rendered “confessing His name.”
This is a type of confession too – confessing His name. What does this mean?
Well, what does confession mean?
It
means saying the same thing. What about name? Name also means His character.
This means saying things about God that agrees with His character, making confessions
like that.
For
example:
The
Lord is good and His mercies endure forever. This kind of confession in the
midst of unpleasant situations will cause God’s goodness to be made manifest
for you.
Therefore
learn to say things that agree with the character of God if you want God to
arise for you always
