The gift of faith

1 Corinthians 12:9
“To another faith by the same Spirit…”

Rom 12:3
“…according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

There are two different types of faith that these two verses speak of and it is important that you understand it. The first is the ‘gift of faith’, that is, faith as a gift of the Spirit which is different than the one that you receive at salvation, which was dealt to every man by God.
The gift of faith operates as God wills but the other one is under the control of the believer. The gift of faith does not grow but you can grow in faith. There are things you do to prepare your heart to believe God in your
everyday living experience but there is nothing you do for you to manifest the gift of faith. It is a special endowment from God upon an individual to carry out a specific task or purpose.
According to someone, when it comes on a man, there is an air of invincibility that surrounds the person. It is such gifts that are used in raising people from the dead, or remaining unmoved in the face of death as Peter was when he was to be killed by Herod. However, you and I do not need to wait for the gift of faith to be released upon us because all things are possible to him that believeth.
The gift of faith is for use in ministry while the other faith is for you to live by in your everyday affair, and it is sufficient for all you need.
