Leading of the Spirit

Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

One of the very important aspects of the believer’s life is being led by the Spirit of God. There is as much faith in being and following the leading as in obeying the written word of God.
What I am saying is that faith is required in following the leading of the Spirit. One of the reasons people fail in this area is because they try to reason out or rationalize the leading and faith is no longer involved when reason
has come in. Faith is not reason, and reason is not faith. You are not going to master being led by the Spirit of God, if you do not learn to take it by faith and act it out.
Living life by the Spirit is an adventure of faith. Look at the way the Message Bible renders our text:

“God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?" (Romans 8:14,15)

So those who do not learn to follow by faith will not be accustomed to being led by the Spirit. In fact one of the ways you can test the leading of the Spirit is: is there faith involved because the Spirit of God will always lead in the way of faith. When the Spirit is leading you there will be an element of the unknown, which you will have to take by faith.
