Presumption

2 Peter 2:10
“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”

There are some people who are presumptious in their faith walk, as a result their faith is not productive but destructive. They end up with a negative experience and then say this faith business does not work.

To presume is to take upon oneself
without leave or warrant or take for granted. Presumption means an attitude or belief dictated by probability, while to be presumptuous is to overstep due bounds, taking liberties.

Our text shows some characteristics of being presumptuous; being self willed and walking after the flesh. Practically, it means being in a place not covered by the word of God and be exercising faith. It is like tempting or daring God.

Satan told Jesus to jump off a cliff since the word said God has given His angels charge over us.
