The word of faith

Habakkuk 2:4
“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”

I want to to give you some reasons why the word of faith is very important to your existence as a Christian so that you can pay adequate attention to its development in your Christian experience.

Firstly, according to Ephesians 2:8, you
are(were) saved by it.

Secondly, without it, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6) Pleasing God is something every well meaning sincere believer wants to do, but this CANNOT happen without faith.

Thirdly, from our text above, we see that we LIVE by faith. If we are to live by faith and we do not know faith that means we are actually not living. Some Christians can therefore be called the living dead. Faith is the breath of the believer.

Moreover, this particular statement is so important that God repeated it FOUR times in Scripture (Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:39). You know if God says something once that is sufficient in itself, how much more that He says it four times! You will do well to pay attention to it.

Fourthly, according to Romans 4:16 if we are to have the promises of God become manifest for us in this age of grace, it has to be by faith. That means faith is the currency of heaven under grace, without it you can inherit the promises.
Fifthly, Romans 14:23 says whatsoever that is not of faith, is sin. Isn’t this plain enough?
