Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen.”
We ended yesterday on the note that the outward expression
of this fruit is stability. Let us pursue this a little further today.
1 Chronicles 12:33
“Of Zebulun, 50,000 experienced troops, fitted out with all
kinds of weapons and instruments of war that could order and set the battle in
array, men not of double purpose but stable and trustworthy.” AMP
You can see that the other side of having stability is to be
someone of double purpose or double minded, and the Scripture has something to
say about such people:
James 1:7-8
“For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will
receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two
minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and
uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].” AMP
Being a person of an unstable character will get to the
place where it affects your relationship with God, that you will not be able to
fixed in your faith when it comes believing God for something. That is, a
deficiency in the fruit of faith can affect an individual’s faith that he lives
by. So, what is the way out?
Psalm 91:1
“HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall
remain stable…” AMP
Learn to spend time with God and His stability will rub off
on you. There is no flakiness in God. So when you stay with Him you will be as
solid and stable as He is. People will find you reliable.
