Luke 6:46
“And why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things which I
say?”
2Corinthians 3:17
“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is liberty.”
In the Message Bible, we see that to walk in the revelation
of Jesus as Lord is to recognize Him also as the Master over your life. Our
text in Luke says if you call Him Lord, then you are supposed to do what He
says. This means, if He is Lord, then His sayings or His word will have final
authority over you.
He will exercise Lordship over your life through your
obedience to His word. The more you allow His word to take it’s rightful place
in your life, the more your life becomes what God intended it to be.
The second thing that is revealed in the second Scripture
text is understanding that Jesus can exercise His Lordship through the Holy
Spirit. This means that the Lordship of Jesus also translates to the Lordship
of the Holy Spirit in our lives. According to that Scripture, where the Holy
Spirit is received as Lord, there will be liberty, freedom and emancipation
from every form of bondage. When that happens to you, of course, your life will
experience change.
So if you want to see changes in your life accept the
leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit, listen to and follow Him where ever he
leads and you will see definite changes in every area of your life.
