Proverbs 23:18
“For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut
short.”
I am sure you have come across this phrase in the scriptures, “and it
came to pass”. This is what our text means when it says for surely there is an
end. There is an end to that negative situation, there is an end to that
sickness or disease and there is an end to the lack in your life.
The
Scriptures say surely, which means certainly, without a doubt or definitely.
But you know you determine how circumstances or situations will end, that it
will end, there is no doubt. So what determines the kind of outcome or end?
Your EXPECTATION! What is that? It is a strong belief that something(good) will
happen(to you) in that situation. Your expectation is what sets the bar for the
kind of outcome you have in life. Hear Paul: Phillipians 1:19,20
“For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer,
and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest
expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that
with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in
my body, whether it be by life, or by death.”
Notice that Paul said the circumstance will turn to his salvation not
only because of the prayers and the supply of the Spirit, but according to his
earnest expectation that in nothing will he be ashamed. So his expectation set
the bar for the outcome Paul experienced. So what expectation do you have
today?
CONFESSION: MY EXPECTATION IS VICTORY, FAVOUR AND DELIVERANCE.
