FAITH'S ULTIMATE VICTORY

1 Peter 1:7-9
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

If you were asked what faith’s ultimate victory is, what would your answer be? I am sure your answer would not be far from it being the receiving of what you stood for in faith. Or it might be expressed as what is recorded in 1John 5:4, “to overcome the world or the systems of the world”. But that is not what our text says; “it is the salvation of our souls”

What does this mean? I am glad you asked, because it does not mean what you may think it is or what I think it is. So let us allow the Bible to speak for it self.

1 Peter 1:13-16(AMP)
“So brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed. [Live] as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel]. But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

The above passage is talking about being ready at the second revelation of Jesus Christ, that we should be holy in all our conduct and manner of living. That is when we receive the end of our faith, the salvation of our souls.
