Hebrews 11:24-27
“By
faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with
the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming
the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had
respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not
fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”
To live by faith successfully, you must
know when to say No! You cannot have everything and please everybody, therefore you must
know when to say No. You must know to refuse things. You must be able to refuse
when people want to take up your valuable
time set aside for prayer and study of God’s word and do frivolous things.
Acts 6:2-4
“Then the
twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not
reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore,
brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy
Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give
ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”
Faith refuses to give attention to things
that will contaminate it. Faith refuses to dwell in the company of those that
will negatively affect it. Learn to say No. It is symbolic of your coming of
age in your faith.
