Luke 12:29 “And seek not ye what ye shall eat or
what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind”
As
we continue our study on doubt, in the passage above we see the word for doubt
means being anxious through a distracted mind or a fluctuating mind. This
implies that doubt comes in also through anxiety, worry or
fretfulness. I want you to note the words “distracted mind”.
This
means what gave room to doubt, was that you become distracted from the word of
God. Maybe the pressure of the circumstances increased and so rather than focus
on the word of God, your attention got on the symptoms. That distraction opened
the door for doubt to creep in.
Moses
told the children of Israel in the wilderness to look so that they may live
even though there were fiery serpents running all around their feet. So
refuse to be distracted
Confession/Prayer:
I
look unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith. I will not be distracted.
