HOW ABRAHAM HANDLED UNBELIEF

Romans 4:16-21
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

The next thing we see with Abraham’s faith is how he handled unbelief. The Scriptures say he staggered not at the promise through unbelief. This tells you when you begin to stagger at God’s word, unbelief is the issue. To stagger means to waver, to be of two minds which ultimately will make you to withdraw from the promise, is caused by unbelief.

And we see how Abraham handled it. He also battled unbelief. Rather than give in to it, the Scriptures say he gave praise to God. The result was that rather being overtaken with unbelief his faith grew stronger and stronger as he praised God. But he was able to do that because he was fully persuaded that He that promised was able to deliver.

This is the cure for unbelief. Unbelief attempts to overtake everyone but you just have to know that you know that you know that God is able to deliver. Let that knowing bring forth praise out of you and unbelief will go out of the window. When you begin to waiver in your faith, know that you are about to be overtaken with unbelief and do something about it.

CONFESSION: I AM A BELIEVER, NOT AN UNBELIEVER. I CAN BELIEVE GOD AND I REFUSE TO WAVER.
