We are people of covenant

1Chronicles 16:13-17

“O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations; Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac; And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.”

One of the things that will make your faith strong is understanding that we are people of covenant, we have a covenant with God and He keeps covenant. This is why we are told to be mindful always of His covenant. David was

mindful of the covenant when he faced Goliath. 

When he called Goliath an uncircumcised philistine, he was talking covenant. He stood on the platform of covenant and that strengthened his faith to go where everyone feared to go. While he was mindful of the covenant, they had forgotten their covenant with God. The Scripture says Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant that is the covenant you are a part of.

Ps 50:5

“Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
