Faith is not strong will

2 Peter 2:10
“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”

As people can be presumptuous in their attempt to walk in faith, in the same vein some act unwisely. In the name of exercising faith to be healed of eye trouble, some people have thrown away the prescription glasses, stopped
taking some prescription drugs, etc. Now this is not faith but foolishness.

Now some may say this is calling things that be not as though they are. No it is not! You keep using the prescribed drugs or glasses until your body shows you don’t have need of them. Faith is not strong will. It is laying hold on the will of God as revealed to you from His word.

Where the word is not explicit, do not give your own interpretation and then claim that interpretation and say you are exercising faith. You are taking God for granted and overstepping due bounds. A woman was in labour in a hospital to be delivered of a child. The doctor advised that she should have the baby through caesarean operation because she had a very small pelvic.

But she refused claiming God does not approve of delivery by caesarean operation and she lost the baby.
