OVERCOMING FAITH

1JOHN 5: 1, 4 & 5

“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God:… For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God.”

There are two things that are birthed in you when you believe that Jesus is the Christ. One is a relationship with God Almighty. The second is a faith that overcomes the world. 

Both came into your heart when you submitted your life to Jesus and received Him as your savior. To be saved and you are a child of God but deny that you have the world overcoming faith is to make the word of God a lair. You cannot have one without the other. Therefore do not accept defeat or failure. You have the world overcoming faith in you right now.

The second thing is that you cannot continue to exercise the world overcoming faith without continuing the relationship with Jesus, it does not work that way. What gives strength to the faith is the relationship.

Confession/Prayer

I live by the faith of Christ who loved me and gave Himself for me. My faith is built on nothing else but Jesus Christ and his Righteousness.
