Heb 11:17
“By faith Abraham, when he was tried,
offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only
begotten son.”
Faith is not afraid to give up what it
possesses in the now. Faith understands that what you have with you now when
given up becomes the minimum, the seed that will yield greater. The Scriptures
say, when Abraham was tried, he offered up what
was his only begotten son.
It might be the only thing while it was in
your hand, but when released it becomes one of the many. Remember the widow
woman at Zarephath, she had only a meal left for herself and her son. The plan
was to eat it and die but then she was challenged to give it up for Elijah, and
when she did, the barrel of flour did not fail neither did the cruse of oil
stop running.
Faith recognizes if I am being asked to
give up my last, it is only to make room for more.
Psalm 126:5 &6
“They
that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing
precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves
with him.”
Faith is perfected by your giving.
