Romans 4:17
“(As it is written, I have made thee a
father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth
the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
Faith calls those things that be not as
though they were. But in the name of confession people call things that be as
though they were not. So you ask someone who obviously is attacked with fever
how they are and you hear, “I am not sick”. Rather what the scriptures teach is
that you respond ‘I am healed’.
There is a world of difference
between the two. When God called
Abram, Abraham and Sarai, Sarah; He was calling the things that be not as
though they were. When Jesus told the disciples that Lazarus was asleep, when
actually he had been dead for some days, He was calling the things that be not
as though they were. If you are going to be victorious in your faith walk, you
have to learn this kind of vocabulary of calling things that be not as though they
are.
