Faith in your faith

1 John 5:4

“…This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” NIV

“For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.” NLT

Do you have faith in your faith? You better do because according to our text for meditation, it is your faith that is used to overcome the world. The New Living Translation makes it clearer, it says every child of God

defeats this evil world and that this victory is achieved through their faith, that is, the believer’s personal faith. It is not achieved through your Pastor’s faith or any other person’s faith for that matter but your own. So I ask again, do you have faith in your own faith?

It is because people do not have faith in their own faith, that is why they always run to one man of God or the other to pray for them. But God wants you to have faith in your own faith and believe that when you pray you can get an answer from God. When you speak to the mountain, it will obey you and flee. Moreover the Scriptures say, the just shall live by his own faith. 

Start believing in your faith and take steps of faith, knowing that your faith has what it takes to defeat the evils of this world, put the enemy under and inherit the promises of God. God is no respecter of persons but he is responder to evryman’s faith irrespective of who that person is. Have faith in your faith today!
