James 1:2-6
“My
brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this,
that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her
perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you
lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and
upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing
wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind
and tossed.”
Still
talking about seeking the wisdom of God as you endeavor to live a life of
faith, I want you to see that Jesus alluded to this when He was talking about
the end times.
“Who then is
a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household,
to give them meat in due season? Blessed
is that servant, whom his lord when he
cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler
over all his goods.” Matthew 24:45-47
Who does the
Master make have rule over His household? The servant that is faith – full and
wise, it is going to take a combination of the two to make you rule over
situations and circumstances in these days.
We also see this in the life of
David when he was to fight the Philistines, two times in the same chapter, we
see him use two different strategies or rather I should say God instructed him
to use two different strategies. This is what I mean by asking God for insight
in a given situation. Living by faith is not a legalistic way of living; it is
a dynamic way of living because it is of the Spirit.
