James 3:2 “For in many things we offend all. If any
man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the
whole body”.
We have meditated a lot on the importance of
confessing God’s word as a necessary ingredient to successful faith walk.
However, I want to raise the bar higher. That is,
beyond just being concerned about confessing in line with God’s word when
desiring something, let us bring it to speaking right words all the time.
“For he that will love life and see good days, let him
refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile”. 1Peter
3:10
What do you suppose evil speaking is? Remember the
children of Israel: the scriptures say they brought up an evil report
concerning the land.
It means they spoke contrary to God’s promise regarding
the land. Train yourself to speak in agreement with God’s word as a way of life
not just to fulfill a formula of faith.
