Faith in your words

Mark 11:34,24

Use your faith to work righteousness

Hebrews 11:33 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions”.

Let us pursue this thought further. How do you use your faith to work righteousness? 

“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Roms 6:11

Remember 11 Pet. 1:3 says you have been given

Using faith

Hebrews 11:33 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions”

In this verse, I see majorly three things faith is used for and I will state them in ascending order.

    1.     Obtain promises

    2.     Work (wrought)

Confessing His name

Hebrews 13:15 “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”

The phrase “giving thanks to His name” can also be rendered “confessing His name.” This is a type of confession too – confessing His name. What

I have faith

Hebrews11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please God…”

This is one more reason why you have to learn how to live the life of faith. You CANNOT please God without it. Why you may ask? Let the word of God answer it for you: “…for whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Rom 14:23).

Some people today because of the verse above also pray to the Lord asking Him to increase their faith. Let me save you time and energy, stop such prayers because it is  not necessary. 

Just as the Lord did not answer

1 Thess. 2:13 “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus. Who is the leader and the source of our faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also the finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection].

Faith is never at it’s finished product when it is used. That is, you might feel all things are wrong with your faith as you apply it

Faith cometh

Romans 10:17 “So, then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

So, faith cometh! If faith cometh, then it means faith is not present where it is coming to. But I thought everyone of us is given a measure of faith which means every believer has faith? What this means is that in different situations of life, faith for that situation has to come to you.

Keep speaking to the mountain

Matt. 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them… if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you”

Believing God

Romans 12:3 “…according as God hath dealt to everyman the measure of faith”

What makes people to fail in their adventure of faith is not walking in consonance with the understanding that faith has measures. 

That is, you must know the level

Have you noticed that faith is in measures? That is why there is no faith or zero faith (Matt 4: 40).

Living by faith

Galatians 3:11 “… The just shall live by faith”.

We continue our meditation on the above text. If the just lives by faith, then it means we are not to wait until we have problems to know if we have faith. 

We need to know what it is to live by when there is a trouble and when there are no troubles. When you live by this when trouble comes, faith will ‘spring out’ to answer for you.

Faith should be your lifestyle

Galatians 3:11 “… The just shall live by faith”.

Faith is no magic wand to be pulled out of the hat in the time of crises neither is it a formula to be used in solving problems. Those who try to use faith like that never succeed in their use of faith. 

Rather, faith is to the believer what water

What has God said to you?

Hebrews 13:5-6 “…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me”

There is something that you need to observe when making confessions of faith and it is this: let your confession be a product of what God said to you. That is learn to speak out what you heard God say to you.

We have meditated a lot on the importance of confessing God’s word as a necessary ingredient to successful faith walk.

However, I want to raise the bar higher. That is,

Hebrews 3:12 (Amp.)

[Therefore beware] brethren,  take care, lest there be in any of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God.”

Unbelief is defined as the state or quality of not believing.

Disbelief is defined as the inability or refusal to believe or to accept something as true.

When you put the two definitions together, unbelief

Isaiah 54:13

“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children”

Do you know you can exercise faith for your children and they will all turn out right? Yes,  I mean all of them will turn out according to God’s design and purpose for them.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent”

Lastly, to know if you are believing is this: Do you have hope and expectation?

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy

Speaking follows believing

John 6:29(ASV)

“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent”

The third way I believe you can measure if you are believing is this: Are You speaking out what you believe?

II Corinthians  4:13

“ But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written , I believed and therefore did I speak, we also believe, and therefore also we speak.”

This is so clear, speaking follows believing . If you are not speaking what you believe, that means you do not believe as you claim. 

The scriptures say with the heart man believeth, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so if your heart is filled with believing , it should flow out of your mouth.

I ask again , Are you speaking out what you believe? Speak out now!
