2 Cor. 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an
advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
One thing that comes out very clear is that everyone
is naked before God (Hebrews 4:12,13), and that includes the devil. The devil
and his ways are completely exposed and made naked by the word of God. This is
why we can avoid
being taken in by him or his having the advantage over us or
we being devoured by him.
Our text shows us that he can get the advantage over
us, if we are ignorant of his strategies. So what are the strategies, devices
or tactics he uses?
“The thief
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” (John 10:10)
In the passage, is revealed Satan’s strategies that
enable him to destroy.
Firstly, he steals, stealing is what opens the door
for other things like killing and destroying to take place. What does he steal?
The word (Mathew13:19).
It is the absence of the word or a refusal of the word
that opens the door for his next action.
Therefore make up your mind today, that your life will
not be empty of the word of God.
Confession:
I will give attention to God’s word. I desire the word
of God more than my necessary food. I will let the word dwell in me richly.
