“By whom also we have access by faith into this
grace wherein we stand…” Romans 5:2
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of
grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16
We ended yesterday’s meditation with this thought
that faith that is not bold is not faith. Let us today look at the
characteristics of bold faith which I believe was exemplified in the life of
David among many others. This we can see in the story of
1Samuel 17, since it involves the whole chapter, we will only bring out the
verses needed.
The first thing you see about the faith that is
bold is that it takes advantage of the opportunity presented to it immediately.
It does not put off for tomorrow what it needs to lay hold today. When David
came to the battle field and saw what was happening, he did not hide he jumped
right into it.
The second thing about bold faith is that it speaks
out. David asked what shall be done to the man who kills this uncircumcised
philistine who had defied the armies of the living God.
