Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen.”
To walk in faith accurately you must understand that faith
and hope are not the same, don’t mean the same thing. To understand this
difference, let us look at another translation of our text:
“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something
we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for
is
waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”
Faith is an evidence of hope. This means faith is something
you can see while hope is something you cannot see yet.
Faith is now while hope is futuristic. Faith speaks in the
now and in past tense while hope’s language is either futuristic or present
continuous. When you say God is going to do something or I am going to have it
tomorrow, your language is hope language and not faith. Have heard this statement? “my best days are
not behind me they are ahead of me”.
This sounds very good but the question is,
when will your best days come when they are always ahead of you. The Bible
talks about laying hold, you cannot lay hold when you are always putting your
best days ahead of you. Say it this way instead, “my best days are not behind
me, they are here now.”
