Hebrews 10:35-38
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great
recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done
the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he
that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by
faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
Let me interrupt the trend of our meditation in the past
three days to bring this word of encouragement to you today. Do not let go of
your grip on God. What is your grip on God, faith is your grip on God and as
long as you have your grip tight God will deliver on His promises to you. Your
faith is like a lifeline thrown to a drowning man from a boat. As long as he
does not let go of the lifeline, he can
be brought to shore but if he lets go
of the lifeline, he will drown. You see God has already promised that He will
not relax or lose His grip on you, so the onus is on you to keep holding on.
Heb 13:5
“…for He [God]
Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I
will] not,[I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor
forsake nor let [you] down ( relax My
hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]”
I heard a man of God say that God told him that once we
believe He(God) is obligated to perform. So no matter the pressure on the
outside telling you to throw in the towel keep holding on because your faith is
destined to end up with a good report. In our text for meditation, it says he
that shall come shall come, though he tarry. This means it is inevitable that
your faith in God will deliver, so don’t give up, don’t lose your grip on God.
Your faith is your lifeline, your grip on God. Hold on to it and it will bring
you to the shore without fail.
