Romans 1:5
“By whom we
have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all
nations, for His name.”
Faith is
perfected by obedience. To live by faith is to live life in perpetual obedience
to God, His Word and His Spirit.
“Jesus was
kind to me and chose me to be an
apostle, so that people of all nations would
obey and have faith.” (Contemporary English Version – Rom 1:5)
“…who bring
people from every nation to the obedience that is associated with faith…”
(God’s Word)
“…in order to
lead people of all nations to believe and obey.” (Good News Translation)
You get the
drift of today’s meditation? Faith is associated with obedience. You cannot
claim to be walking in faith or living by faith and be live in utter disregard
of the word of God. Or decide to obey a part of God’s word and disregard
another part. The Scriptures say concerning Abraham:
“By faith
Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place…” (Hebrews 11:8)
If you claim
that you believe God then obey Him and do whatever He has asked you to do
today. Your obedience is the proof of your belief. Like an old hymn said:
Trust and
obey
For there is
no other way
To be happy
in Jesus
But to trust
and obey.
CONFESSION: I will obey you Lord, because I trust you.
